What: Spring Equinox Observation of Solar Alignment
Where: Cairn T – Loughcrew, Ireland
When: Spring Equinox Time: Sunrise
About: Observe the solar alignments of the Spring Equinox at Cairn T, the largest cairn in the Loughcrew Tomb complex in Ireland, approximately 120 feet in diameter. Cairn T was once covered in white quartz and was created with the Irish cruciform layout. On the Spring Equinox, you can watch the rising sun enter the inner chamber of the Cairn and shine light upon a stone engraved with ancient celestial symbols. The Spring Equinox sun also rises in alignment with a sacred hill on the Loughcrew Tomb complex.
